PRESS RELEASE

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE- APRIL 27, 2004

RISING STAR STEPHANIE URBINA JONES KICKS OFF HER SPRING TOUR BY HEADING "DOWN TO MEXICO," HER FOURTH SINGLE FROM HER DEBUT SELF TITLED ALBUM.

Nashville, TN-Stephanie Urbina Jones has had an amazing year and half since she began taking her unique Texicana country sound not only to Texas but across the borders. In an amazingly short period of time, Jones scored by topping the Texas Music Charts with three Top Ten records and became the first independent female to ever go number one for an astounding five weeks in a row with her single "Shakin Things Up."

Last year she continued her climb, playing some of the biggest festivals in Texas and beyond including the Robert Earl Keen Texas Uprising, Kerrville Folk Festival, representing Texas at Fan Fair, Bocktoberfest, touring Japan and finally highlighting her year by not only rocking the Willie Nelson Fourth of July Picnic, but by singing with the legend himself.

Jones finished out 2004 by making her first commercial as the face and voice for Fernandez Honda in English and Spanish, being featured on the cover of Best in Texas Magazine December issue and finally being asked to be the Grand Marshall for the Ford and Texas Ford Holiday River Parade which was broadcast into 19 million homes across the country.

This winter after a taking a few months to write what will become her next album, Jones began "Shakin Things Up" again when she was asked to sing a duet with one of her favorite voices in country music, Johnny Bush. The album also features duets between Johnny and Kevin Fowler, Cooder Graw and Willie Nelson. Jones was asked to be the only female on the project and a little girl's dream came true.

In January 2004, Jones wrote a song that country crooner Blake Shelton has recorded and plans to put on his upcoming album and in February, Jones was honored to be given the Latina Entertainer of the Year award by the prestigious La Prensa Foundation. This past month Jones began doing pre-production for her next album at BGM studios in her hometown of San Antonio, TX. In an effort to capture an authentic and original Tex-Mex Country Sound, Jones intends to use the best of Texas to create the landscape for her album. The first recordings include a self-penned song with special guest Augie Meyers from the Texas Tornadoes. The album promises lots of highlights and surprises.

Most recently, Jones has just released her fourth single from her debut album appropriately called "Down to Mexico." The song which debuted this week on the Texas Music chart at #48, captures the summertime fun of rolling down the highway, drinking in the sunshine and enjoying the simple things in life. It's a perfect radio single to turn up, tune out and get down to!

Jones kicks off her spring dates with her new band on Friday May 7, as she opens up for Tanya Tucker at the Wildflower Arts and Music Festival. Be sure and check out this fiery Texicana Country girl as she crisscrosses the state and continues to head down to Mexico" with a style and sound all her own.
